FDS Europe

Thank you to the Deutsches Museum (Germany), the Tekniska Museet (Sweden), the Hiša Eksperimentov (Slovenia), the Esplora Interactive Science Centre (Malta) and the Copernicus Science Centre (Poland) !

They were part of the French Science Festival from 1 to 3 October at the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie and successfully met with the French audience.

Animations and workshops were organised for visitors to make musical instruments from everyday objects, fly objects, produce living creatures, look inside one’s eye, find out if it will be possible to move to Mars, analyse the possibilities of our bodies or discover the history of the European Union, the geography and culture of European countries.

The Città della Scienza (Italy) and the Norsk Teknisk Museum (Norway) participated online too, congratulations.

In the context of the forthcoming French Presidency of the Council of the European Union in January 2022, science explainers from all over Europe were invited by Universcience to join the French science festival which gathered 28.300 visitors during 3 days at la cité des sciences et de l’industrie.

Universcience

The city of Paris boasts two prestigious centres promoting science and technology, the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie and the Palais de la Découverte. From January 1st, 2010, they have joined forces to create a new institution: Universcience placed under the joint responsibility of the Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Innovation and the Ministry for Culture. With almost 3.5 million visitors each year (3 million at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie and 550 000 at the Palais de la découverte), Universcience is the fourth most popular cultural establishment in Paris after the Louvre, Versailles and the Georges-Pompidou Centre.
