  2. Our membership team will contact you if there are any questions
  3. All applications are reviewed by the Ecsite Board
  4. You will receive feedback on the boards decision within 2 weeks of the Board meeting

Membership categories

Ecsite has three different categories of members determined by your organisation's status:

FULL MEMBERSNon-profit or public-facing science engagement venues based in geographical Europe
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSNon-profit organisations based outside of Europe
SUSTAINING MEMBERSFor-profit organisations including one-person companies

The annual turnover (or operating income) includes all income including: revenues from admission, educational activities, rental of premises, revenue from rented outreach/ travelling activities and exhibitions, memberships dues, financial support from national and local government and from local authorities, grants and funding, restricted funds released during the year, donations, sponsorships (cash only), proceeds from fundraising activities and financial investments such as stock shares in companies.


Note that in cases where a member is part of a larger organisation (research institute, university etc.) the declared turnover should take into account only those activities that relate to the science engagement part of the organisation.
