All you need to know about the Ecsite Conference trade show, the Business Bistro.

Being an exhibitor at the Business Bistro trade show means taking part in the leading event dedicated to science engagement. The trade show will gather together a unique group of 65 exhibitors and over 1,000 science engagement professionals including key decision-makers from 450+ different organisations, on the beautiful island of Malta.

1. What is the Business Bistro trade show?

​Part trade show, part coffee bar, the Business Bistro is a professional but also a relaxed environment in which to demonstrate cutting-edge products and strike commercial deals.

It is the place where exhibitors can strengthen their businesses and showcase their latest innovations to key leaders and purchasers in the science engagement sector. Exhibiting at the Ecsite Conference will enable your products to get noticed, our participants are always looking for new business opportunities. Showcase your products to the ideal audience: In 2022,

  • 58% of Conference participants were CEOs, Directors or senior decision-makers of their institutions
  • Describing their discipline, 9% of participants work in education and 13% work in exhibitions
  • 74% of exhibitors at the 2022 Ecsite Conference reported being satisfied with the event and would like to exhibit again in 2023 

Booths at the Business Bistro trade show can be tailored to suit your needs, you as the exhibitors take the lead on the booth design. After a careful selection, the booths will this year be built by Casapinta, a company with years of experience organising trade shows in Malta which knows the Mediterranean Conference Centre venue very well.

You can have a look at a video presenting the wonderful trade show venue in Valletta and discover the Sacra Infermeria Hall in which the Business Bistro will take place.

Opening hours

The Business Bistro is open during conference hours and specific timeslots are dedicated to the trade show. This is the place where participants go at every break between sessions, with coffee bars and lounge areas situated throughout the venue.

On Friday evening, the famous Business Bistro Happy Hour takes place! Exhibitors bring drinks and food from their home countries, attracting participants to relax and browse the booths at the trade show. 

During the Conference, the Business Bistro will be open on:

Thursday 15 June, 11.00 to 18.00 Friday 16 June, 10.00 to 20.00, including the Happy Hour from 17.30 to 19.00. Saturday 17 June, 10.00 to 16.30

As an exhibitor, you will have access to the trade show one hour before it opens and can leave one hour after its closing.

You can have unlimited staff at your booth with access only to the Business Bistro. Please note that in 2023 Ecsite won’t provide lunch for booth staff as there are many offers just outside the convention centre.

This is what the standard booth will look like, the counter is optional. You can then tailor your booth the way you want, possibilities are endless.

If you are interested in booking free space only at the trade show, reach out to us, this is possible. Free space is charged 500€ /m2.

Tailoring your booth

For extra furniture orders, you can look at the Casapinta catalogue.

For any extra requests regarding your booth's furniture and customised orders please get in touch with Clare Borg from Casapinta at sales@casapinta.com.

The deadline to send you prints, artwork branding, and furniture requirements was 22 May. For more information, please get in touch directly with Casapinta.


If you have booked a corner booth or an end one, you can ask for an open booth without the outer side wall.

Pictures can be attached to booth walls with double-sided tape only, no pins are allowed. 

Registering your booth staff

You can have unlimited staff at your booth with access only to the Business Bistro. Please note that Ecsite won’t provide lunch for booth staff as there are many offers just outside the convention centre. You can find a selection of places on that document.

Registering your staff will allow everyone to receive a printed Business Bistro badge on-site.

Please do not register exhibitors who are signed up for the conference as participants already.

Prepare for the Happy Hour

The Happy Hour will take place on Friday 16 June, from 17.30 to 19.00.

You can bring drinks and food from your home country, or whatever you see fit. 

You will have access to fridges, glasses and cutlery on-site (you can book what you need once you arrive at the venue). If you need to store things in the fridges, please make sure to label them beforehand.


You can send your goods directly to the trade show venue, at the following address:

The venue will be able to store your material from 5 June.

To ship your goods, we recommend using the company Express Trailers Ltd.

Please let the team in Malta know when you are sending your goods as well as what you are sending and make sure you label your packages correctly, mentioning your name, company and booth number.

Do you plan on sending pallets to the venue? Let us know beforehand, for smooth heavy package reception.

Setup and Dismantling of your booth

Exhibition setting up: Wednesday 14 June 2023, from 8:00 to 21:00

Thursday 15 June 2023, from 08.00 to 10.00

Please let us know if you think this won't allow you enough time to build your booth on-site.

Exhibition dismantling: Saturday 17 June 2023, from 18.00 & Sunday 18 June 2023 from 8:00 to 18:00

Every material will have to be out of the Mediterranean Conference Centre on Sunday.

5. When you arrive on-site

The Mediterranean Conference Centre, where the trade show will take place, only has one entrance to the front door.

When you arrive at the venue, please ask for Roxanne. We will then take you to your booth and to get your stored goods if you do have some.
