Science Museum and School: A Cooperation to improve teaching, learning and discovery – European Training Course for Teachers and Museum Explainers, 9th Edition, Munich, Germany, 1-7 December 2013

The course aims to encourage the use of the museum as a teaching and learning resource in science education and to contribute to the enrichment of professional knowledge and expertise in using museums.

“Since the first moments after the fire of 4 March 2013, Ecsite has rallied around their colleagues at Città della Scienza,” reads a message from Anne-Marie Bruyas, head of International Relations at Città.

Robert Firmhofer, President of Ecsite and Director of Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw, Poland, and Catherine Franche, Executive Director of Ecsite, were in Naples on Tuesday, 11 March to express their solidarity with the team of Città.

I’m a Scientist, Get me out of Here! has been running successfully in the UK since 2008 and more recently also in Ireland and Australia. There could be possibilities to bring this project to other locations. I’m a Scientist, Get me out of Here! is an online event where school students get to meet and interact with scientists.

The Pavilion of Knowledge – Ciência Viva in Lisbon, Portugal, is looking for a Head of Visitor Experiences to lead the Team of Explainers and manage their communications skills.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to lead the development and implementation of strategies to engage visitors with the museum and their exhibitions in a positive, enduring and innovative way.

This position will imply significant opportunities to implement modern concepts of science communication and education in a science centre environment.

Ecsite has ushered in 2013 with a beautiful new logo. Read about the meaning of this bold new design on the Visual identity page: www.ecsite.eu/visual-identity. Here you can also download high resolution and low resolution versions of the logo for your own use. The logo is available in colour, black, greyscale and white. Please consult the guidelines for use (downloadable on the Visual identity page) before using the logo.
