Sister organisations

Ecsite collaborates with other organisations worldwide, acting as an advocate of science engagement and representing its members' interests.

Science engagement networks around the globe

Regional organisations gather science engagement professionals around the globe.

  • Asia Pacific Network of Science and Technology Centers (ASPAC)
  • Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC)
  • Network for the Popularization of Science and Technology in Latin America and The Caribbean (RedPOP)
  • North Africa and Middle East science centres (NAMES)
  • Southern African Association of Science and Technology Centres (SAASTEC)

National/regional science engagement networks in Europe

In many European countries, science engagement professionals are also federated at national level. Ecsite works in close collaboration with these national bodies.

A special relationship with zoos, aquaria and botanical gardens

In September 2014 Ecsite signed a memorandum of understanding with the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) and Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI). Together, the zoos, aquaria, botanic gardens, science centres and museums (etc.) members of our three organizations receive more than 240 million visitors a year. We are joining forces to engage audiences with biodiversity conservation.
