On 24 March Ecsite held an online session for members on the topic of ‘motivating your team’, resulting in some fascinating discourse. Working as a collaborative network, Ecsite members are now invited to join two more work-from-home online drop-in sessions to discuss the following participant-chosen topics in an open, peer-to-peer way:

Tuesday, 31 March, 15.00 (CEST): ‘How to communicate to our audiences about the coronavirus’. Ecsite Board member Bruno Maquart will bring to the mix examples from Universcience and you are welcome to share your ideas too.

The Department of Science and Technology Studies at the University of Vienna is recruiting for one post-doc (6 years) and one pre-doc (4 year PhD) positions.

These posts will join the Davies group which focuses on Technosciences, Materiality, and Digital Culture. They are looking for scholars whose research will explore interactions between technoscience and digitisation in public spaces, cultures, and digital environments. Relevant interests may include, but are not limited to:

News 24 March 2020

The European Lung Foundation is looking for a patient involvement and engagement coordinator.

ELF works alongside the European Respiratory Society (ERS) to involve people with lung conditions in science, education and advocacy. This role would include engaging patients from across Europe in research (e.g. setting research priorities, clinical trial design) and in clinical practice guidelines (e.g. identifying outcome measures important to patients). They are a small, busy team working on multiple projects across all lung conditions.

UPDATE | Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are working closely with the Conference Host to determine the best course of action regarding the 2020 Ecsite Conference and any plans to postpone or cancel the Conference will be taken by the Ecsite Board on 1 April.

The Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation is seeking an experienced public engagement professional to lead on the planning and management of a creative programme of internal and external engagement initiatives and events, and support the development and implementation of our Public Engagement and Communications strategy. The postholder will be based within the MRC University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR).
