Witness the collective power of Ecsite members. Together in 2013, we created the largest ever gathering of science engagement practitioners in Europe, collected 1,000 citizens’ views on urban waste management, delivered 9 pan-European projects, drank 2,760 coffees in three days of Annual Conference… more in the online version of the 2013 Annual Report.

Ecsite is partnering on a proposal for the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 call for promoting Gender Equality in Research and Innovation, under the topic Innovative approach to communication encouraging girls to study science.

The European Commission launched a survey to shape EPALE, a platform initiated by the European Commission, “designed to become the reference point on adult learning in Europe”. Participation open til 15 May 2014.

Discover robust evidence of science centres’ impact as demonstrated by an international study (John H. Falk, Lynn D. Dierking, Mark Needham and Lisa Prendergast), challenge your assumptions on the role of science engagement institutions and practitioners in tackling social exclusion (Matteo Merzagora) and savour a mouth-watering report on successful use of the PlayDecide game technique to engage teenagers in discussing food and health matters (Maria Zolotonosa).

This year the Space Group will be generous : beyond sharing the latest and future space achievements with the European Space Agency (ESA), the space group will present and offer you the toolkit built to tackle ESA’s Rosetta mission through events, exhibitions and educational activities. Moreover, participants of the Space pre-conference workshop will visit the ESTEC – the engineering core of ESA – and Space-Expo on the second day.
