‘People, Planet and Peace’ is the theme of Ecsite’s annual conference in Den Haag, the Netherlands, on 20–24 May.

Friday afternoon ahead of the conference: Ecsite is packing its office to move to The Hague. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you very soon to our 25th anniversary conference edition.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Ecsite’s Annual Conference, the Ecsite team is gathering pictures of past conferences and events – especially before 2010.

Ecsite is partnering on a proposal for the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 call for promoting Gender Equality in Research and Innovation, under the topic Innovative approach to communication encouraging girls to study science.

The European Commission launched a survey to shape EPALE, a platform initiated by the European Commission, “designed to become the reference point on adult learning in Europe”. Participation open til 15 May 2014.

Ecsite is looking for 5 science centres and museums to join a new Horizon 2020 call as Third Parties.

Discover robust evidence of science centres’ impact as demonstrated by an international study (John H. Falk, Lynn D. Dierking, Mark Needham and Lisa Prendergast), challenge your assumptions on the role of science engagement institutions and practitioners in tackling social exclusion (Matteo Merzagora) and savour a mouth-watering report on successful use of the PlayDecide game technique to engage teenagers in discussing food and health matters (Maria Zolotonosa).

This year the Space Group will be generous : beyond sharing the latest and future space achievements with the European Space Agency (ESA), the space group will present and offer you the toolkit built to tackle ESA’s Rosetta mission through events, exhibitions and educational activities. Moreover, participants of the Space pre-conference workshop will visit the ESTEC – the engineering core of ESA – and Space-Expo on the second day.
