Dr. Farouk El-Baz is Director of the Center for Remote Sensing and Research Professor at the Departments of Archaeology and Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Associated Faculty at the Department of Earth and Environment, Boston University, Boston, MA, U.S.A. He also serves as faculty advisor to two Boston University student organizations: the “1001 Wells for Darfur,” and the “Egyptian Club.” As a part of the Science Festivity organized by the Planetarium Science Center (PSC) at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) during this month (April 2013), Dr. Farouk, who is a member of the Board of Trustees of the BA, has given a very motivational lecture about the role of youth in determining the future of Egypt. His lectures are always awaited by a huge audience of university students and general public. He possesses a simple way of lecturing that is both inspiring and informative to all the attendees, whatever their ages and levels of education are. The lecture took place at the Great Hall at the BA Center of Conferences, on Sunday 14 April 2013.
