Sci- fi fans can rejoice, as one of Europe’s largest privately owned collections of model robots, cyborgs and androids now on display at Life Science Centre. This fascinating new exhibition will display robots, androids and cyborgs from TV shows and films from the past 60 years, and features over 40 full size robot models, heads and robot toys, including replicas of famous robots that you may recognise from the big screen!

The Planetarium Science Center is organizing a one day festivity to celebrate the International Year of Light as declared by the UNESCO to be this year, 2015. The day will highlight the famous ancient scientist, Ibn Al-Haytham, and his contributions in the fields of optics and light.
Newcastle’s only outdoor ice rink returns for 2015! Grab your skates, wrap up warm and head down to Times Square for a whirl around the ice! You could even treat yourself to a delicious hot chocolate for the full festive experience!
Please note: children aged 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult on the ice rink. Children aged 10 - 12 must be supervised by an adult (adults can watch from the viewing platform if they prefer).

The Planetarium Science Center of Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) will host the global blockbuster “1001 Inventions” exhibition and its parallel activities in Egypt. This is in collaboration with 1001 Inventions Foundation and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, with the patronage of the Egyptian Prime Ministry.

Mistakes like these are exactly what illusionists like to work with and what scientists try to understand the workings of. In the Museon, the two worlds of magic and science touch. The beauty of science
In order to promote the idea of social development based on education, science, technology and innovation – on the 12th of September a nationwide campaign “SPiN Day – for the Society and Science” will be organised by Porozumienie Społeczeństwo i Nauka SPiN (Society and Science Agreement). It is the first event of this kind implemented on such a scale by science communicators in Poland.
ALEXANDRIA, Egypt – Forty science communication professionals from southern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East will come together for the second edition of the Euro-Mediterranean and Middle East Summer School of Science Communication (EMME) to drive development of new science communication endeavors in their respective countries and regions.
This multicultural effort, motivated by a passion for science communication without borders, is the basis for EMME which will be held at Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria, Egypt from 5 to 10 September 2015.

For the first time Life Science Centre is opening its doors for a special Summer Science Camp! At this five day event for 13 to 18 year olds, there will be the chance to do lots of exciting and cool stuff.
This lecture is a special event for Game On 2.0. Neuroscientist, writer and broadcaster Professor Susan Greenfield believes long exposure to computers and computer gaming is harmful to the human brain. Her book, Mind Change was published in August 2014. In Mind Change, Professor Greenfield discusses the all-pervading technologies that now surround us. In her view they are creating a new environment, with vast implications, because our minds are physically adapting: being rewired. Using the very latest research, Mind Change is intended to incite debate as well as yield the way forward.

Back in October 2010 we were awarded the contract for building and installing the Being Human gallery at TELUS Spark in Calgary. More than 50 interactive exhibits for exploring what it means to be a human were built, supplied and installed in the exhibition rooms within 8 months. Using science, art and personal stories, ways and means are shown to explore who people really are. Calgary’s brand-new science Centre TELUS Spark was opened to the public on October 29, 2011.
In January 2016 we were contracted to conceptualize, design and build the new Discovery Place at The Scientific Center of Kuwait. On a floor space of 754 sqm there are now some 50 new interactives theming Science of Food & Sports, Basic Physics, Perception & Thinking, Bubbles, Genetics and a new toddler‘s area.
In addition large scale outdoor exhibits were installed at the bay side. After nine months work the new Discovery Place was then inaugurated on October 18, 2016.

The Dutch Sound and Vision museum has opened ‘Let’s Youtube’, the first exhibition about YouTube in the world. The highly interactive exhibition, designed and developed by NorthernLight, enables visitors to experience the impact YouTube has on their lives.
Back in November 2013 we were contracted with the conception, design and build of Poland’s longest constantly swinging Foucault pendulum and largest interactive waterscape.
NorthernLight designed all exhibitions for the 2000 m2 interactive energy science centre in Shenzhen, China. It tells the story of energy throughout history and around the world. If focusses on global issues and developments, as well as local energy supply in the multi million inhabitants city of Shenzhen. The spectacular entrance of the centre is a dome projection that immerses visitors into the history of planet Earth from an energy point of view. In the following thematic areas, some 100 interactive exhibits lets visitor s experience the story of energy in past and present.
NorthernLight has been selected to redevelop the media centre of the Olympic village in Sochi. The aim is to build the biggest science attraction in Russia, including a talent-development program in the field of sports, art and science.
A box. A button. Press it – and the show begins. Puppets, driven by an automatic mechanism, in short comic-like sequences, present important stages in the life of the late mediaeval Emperor Charles IV. The delicate puppets and scenery created by Susanne Jacob are reminiscent of the famous soft style of the late Gothic era, and at the same time of modern French comics.
In October 2012 we were awarded the contract to conceptualize, design and build the new permanent Biodiversity exhibition at the Hong Kong Science Museum.
By staging of this gallery, Hong Kong Science Museum wants to promote public appreciation of biodiversity and raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity conservation, and moreover wants to trigger proper lifestyle changes in the effort to avoid a massive loss of biodiversity. The Biodiversity gallery was officially opened to the public on September 2, 2016.
From September 2016 the Amsterdam Museum presents the exhibition ‘100 years of Schiphol -ready for departure’. In this interactive family exhibition, designed and developed by NorthernLight, visitors learn how the airport grew from a muddy meadow into one of world’s most important airports.
NorthernLight was asked by creative agency Fabrique and technical agency Q42 to join in the international tender for developing a wayfinding app for the Tate Museums. The tender was won with the simple concept: from wayfinding to dayfinding. An app that is a friendly and intuitive companion to help make your visit the best visit possible. By the end of 2015, development started on the app that will personalize and enrich a visit to Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool and Tate St. Ives. NorthernLight has functioned as a creative consultant for the concept and development phase.
