The Planetarium Science Center will celebrate the GLOBE at Night program, which is an international citizen-science campaign to raise public awareness of the impact of light pollution by inviting citizen-scientists to measure their night sky brightness and submit their observations to a website from a computer or smart phone. The GLOBE at Night campaign has run for two weeks each winter/spring for the last six years. People in 115 countries have contributed 66,000 measurements, making GLOBE at Night one of the most successful light pollution awareness campaigns.
Thirty years have elapsed since ”la Caixa” Foundation’s Science Museum opened its doors in Barcelona. Following twenty-four years of activity and museological reflection, CosmoCaixa, as the museum is known today, came into being. Since then, it has received six million visitors as well as recognition from the European Museum Forum in the form of the European Museum of the Year Award 2006.
The Planetarium Science Center at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is organizing the third local affiliate fair, Intel Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science & Engineering Fair (Intel BASEF 2012), in collaboration with Intel Co. This competition unites promising young scientists, ages 14–18 from Alexandria and other governorates to showcase their scientific and research talents.
The Planetarium Science Center at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is launching the Intel-BASEF competition taking place during March, 2012 in an open ceremony, where the event will be publically introduced, accompanied by success stories from the previous Intel-BASEF competitions. The Intel-BASEF is a competition where participants prepare a project or research, in any subject of their choice from 17 science fields.

The Science Museum and the Botanical gardens “Carmela Cortini” of the University of Camerino, in collaboration with the Pinacoteca e Museo civici and Museo Arcidiocesano “G. Boccanera”, open their doors to school teachers to show their didactic activities, temporary exhibitions and events scheduled for 2011/2012. The Planetarium Science Center at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina has had the pleasure of hosting the National Youth Chess Tournament for boys and girls of ages 8, 10, 12 & 14 years. The tournament lasted for a week and included the opening ceremony, the matches and judging, the closing ceremony and medals and cups distribution. 120 participants came from all parts of Egypt, whether previous national and international champions or new players from the Egyptian Chess Federation.

On Saturday, the 19th of February 2011, the Benelux Finale of the FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) will take place in Discovery Center Continium in Kerkrade (NL). Over 300 teams of children between 8 and 15 participated in the various regional finales of the FLL in the Netherlands and Belgium. Of these 300 eams eventually 40 teams managed to place themselves for the grand Benelux Finale. They will prepare their selfbuild robots for the challenge of making it to the Europena Finale.
“Courtyards in bloom” has been organized by Archeoclub – Camerino section, in collaboration with the University Natural Science Museum, the Civic Museum, The University Botanical Garden, the Municipality and the Local Trade Association.

The Planetarium Science Center is organizing the Mid-year Program for students of ages 4-16 years old, during the period 6 to 17 February 2022. Online registration will open from Tuesday, 25th of January 2022 till all places are reserved.

The PSC is inviting all school students of ages 4-17 years to join the Summer Program, starting from the 18th of May till the 5th of September 2019.
The program includes various activities, such as practical experiments, scientific contests, lectures, and Planetarium and Auditorium shows. The purpose of this program is to emphasize the bond between students and learning by approaching knowledge through fun and games.

The PSC is organizing a number of workshops that encourage school students groups to explore their creativity and help them find out how to use it in their life; all the while enriching their knowledge. Eratosthenes festivity 2018
The Eratosthenes Festivity has become an annual tradition that takes place every year on 21 June at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; It is designed for preparatory school students, and includes a series of activities that revolve around the methodology Eratosthenes applied in measuring the Earth’s circumference 2000 years ago. On the 21st of June, the day of summer solstice, the 21st century school students conduct Eratosthenes’ experiment on the BA Plaza, and in Aswan (Upper Egypt) to measure the circumference of Earth.
