More than 120 participants from 10 Arab countries are scheduled to participate in Intel Science Competition Arab World (ISC-AW), which is the Arabic version of Intel International Science and Engineering Fair held in the United States every year (Intel ISEF). Contestants from Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia und the United Arab Emirates will showcase their distinguished science projects in various scientific and social specializations to compete for financial awards totaling $20,000 and scholarships from top Arab universities.

Experimentarium 10 September 2018

TIME Magazine just published a list of the ’World’s Greatest Places’ for the very first time.

The list names the 100 best and most innovative destinations from around the world – spanning 48 countries and six continents.

Three of the world’s greatest places can be found in Copenhagen: Experimentarium, Tivoli and Noma.

The University of Cyprus responded to a call for proposals for Horizon 2020, the European Union’s newest research and innovation framework program. The objective of Horizon is to establish a center for research and scientific education in Nicosia. The center will facilitate interdisciplinary scientific research, education, responsible citizenship, and innovation, creating a teaching and learning environment for science and STEAM technology (Science – Technology- Engineering- Arts- Mathematics).

The museum has been named after Herman Boerhaave (1668-1738), one of the leading scientists in Europe in his day. He was an all-rounder: a skilled physician, anatomist, botanist, chemist, humanist and researcher.

At Universcience, Paris, France. An exhibition that masters the power of fire. 

The exhibition Feu explores how humans have tried to control fire through time. This theme was chosen following a fire that took place in 2015 at the Cite des sciences et de l’Industrie. It was developed in partnership with Paris fire brigade.

The winners of the 2018 Mariano Gago Ecsite Awards have just been announced at the Opening Ceremony of the Ecsite Annual Conference. The Tycho Brahe Planetarium (Copenhagen, Denmark) won in the ‘Sustainable Success’ category and Exploratório – Ciência Viva Science Centre of Coimbra (Portugal) won in the ‘Smart and Simple’ category.

The 2020 Ecsite Conference will be taking place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 11-13 June 2020. It will be hosted by the Kersnikova Institute.

The 2021 Ecsite Conference will be taking place in Stavanger, Norway, on 10-12 June 2021. It will be co-hosted by Jærmuseet and the Norwegian Petroleum Museum.
