International Masterclasses are organized by IPPOG, the International Particle Physics Outreach Group and the Planetarium Science Center, at the third and forth floating rooms in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conferences Center. Each Masterclass is a one-day-activity taking place at a university or research institute. Researchers invite High school students, aged 16 – 19 and let them be scientists for one day. The core activity is a measurement with real data from CERN, provided by the experiments ATLAS, CMS, and ALICE, see: http://physicsmasterclasses.org/neu/index.php?cat=physics.

Organized by the Planetarium Science Center, Intel-BASEF is a competition designed to increase the school students’ (age 14–18 years ) awareness of the importance of scientific research and to discover the youth innovative and research capacities. Intel-BASEF participants are requested to research a certain topic, from among 17 scientific themes.

Astronomy is one of the few sciences where amateurs can conduct an active role, particularly in discovering and monitoring transient phenomena, such as comets, novae and supernovae. The Planetarium Science Center (PSC) will initiate the Amateur Astronomy Club (AAC), where the amateur astronomers can practice astronomy for interest and enjoyment, under the supervision of the PSC. The Program comprises 9 days within the period March 7th to April 27th, presented to youths of ages 10 – 16 years.

Following twenty-four years of activity and museological reflection, CosmoCaixa, as the museum is known today, came into being. Since then, it has received six million visitors as well as recognition from the European Museum Forum in the form of the European Museum of the Year Award 2006.

INSPIRE (INternational “Science Performance Is Ready” Event)

During the five day workshop, participants will very actively learn how to: choose a topic for the science show, start planning a science show, add humour without being silly, avoid mistakes and traps, engage audience in active participation, develop acting skills needed for successful performance, communicate Science.

This year Ljubljana Science Festival – Sciencetival will partly overlap with the INSPIRE workshop providing a perfect environment for the participants to test their learned skills in front of public.

AHHAA Science Centre Foundation 9 October 2019

Science Centre AHHAA took part of an Erasmus+ KA2 strategic partnership project named Boosting Science Education at School. The partnership taught each other and learned how to spice up regular STEM school classes with engaging hands-on experiments. 75 children aged 10 to 14 pose for a group picture after their Moon Camp experience

75 children, aged from 10 to 14, experienced an adventure that they will never forget: ESERO Portugal gave them the opportunity to actually spend the night at the Pavilion of Knowledge, in a space environment especially built to celebrate the 20th of July 1969, when men first set foot upon the Moon. These lucky kids were assigned the mission of projecting a lunar village, with their own hands, and live a true space mission for one day. They were selected by their own teachers for having already presented space-related projects in their schools.
