Science Festivity 2013

16 April 2013 - 18 April 2013
  • Festival

The Planetarium Science Center (PSC) at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) is organizing the seventh Science Festivity under the overarching theme of “Natural Hazards”. The Festivity aims to advance and share the knowledge of hazards mitigation and disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. Increasing public awareness of natural hazards risk shall significantly reduce the risks of the death, injury, economic cost, and destruction of natural and cultural resources caused by natural disasters. The Science Festivity comprises a Science Village built on the BA Plaza, where various workshops and activities, prepared by school students under the supervision of their teachers and university students, are displayed. It is composed of 50 easy to mantle kiosks, 9square meters each (3mx3m). The three-day event is divided into a variety of extracurricular activities including plenary sessions, hands-on workshops, interactive exhibits, in addition to the always intriguing Super Science Show. With this Festivity, we aim to communicate science to people of all ages and backgrounds.
