The votes are in: Robert Firmhofer, director of Copernicus Science Centre, has been elected the new President of Ecsite. Full Ecsite Members made their decision at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which took place on day two of the Ecsite Annual Conference 2011 in Warsaw, Poland.
26-28 May (Thursday – Saturday)
Temporary street closure from the airport Okęcie to the Centre of Warsaw. In these areas possibility of parking will be also limited. There are expected some limitation in the Royal Route and other streets located in the vicinity.
Jennifer Palumbo, OSR Project Coordinator, accepted a Silver Award at this year’s Learning Impact Awards in Long Beach, California, USA.
Ecsite is looking for a part-time Business Bistro Assistant for its Annual Conference 2012 and onward.
The Ecsite’s Annual Conference 2011 will become another exciting network event for science professionals! The number of conference delegates is growing every day, so does the registrations of exhibitors for the Business Bistro!
With 55 booths and all the coffee breaks always hosted there, the Business Bistro will be as always the most vivid place of the conference!

Grundtvig and Comenius grants are available to attend the summer school “Discover Open Science Resources” which will take place in July 2011 in Crete.
We are delighted to announce that on Dec. 2nd the proposal for a new Ecsite Thematic group : REV (Thematic Group for Research and Evaluation) was accepted by the Ecsite Board.
Holly Hasted and Anne Kahr are the ones that took the lead to follow up a conversation that began in Dortmund during the Ecsite 2010 Conference. It was a conversation about the need for a Thematic Group focussing on Evaluation and Research within the Ecsite Network.
The group will officially be launched during the Evaluation Pre-Conference Session in Warsaw.

The group will officially be launched during the Evaluation Pre-Conference Session in Warsaw 2011. In the spirit of evaluation, you are invited to respond to a quick survey about your needs and vision for the group.
