Between the 17th and 19th of February, the thriving city of London will be hosting the Train the Trainers, T3 event, that will enable every attendee to further train their communitties about the benefits and the use of the diverse set of tools available at the RRI Toolkit.
It might sound weird, but it´s not. RRI Tools Project, with the team from the ZSI, The Social Innovation Centre from Vienna, Austria, are currently working on the last details of the self-reflection tool. What? Yes, a practical set of key questions that will be useful for each of us who are interested in RRI. Because there are many ways we can get aware of how far are we incorporating the values and ways of doing research in a responsible and innovative way.
RRI tools, the project that will bring together a diverse and meaningful set of resources to develop RRI in different contexts and for different needs, is in its final stage, before launching the toolkit in January 2016.
Save the date! The "Shaping the RRI Toolkit - External Experts Meeting" - 19-20 November at the Greater Birmingham and West Midlands conference venue in Brussels - is approaching fast.
An experts' meeting on 19-20 November will help finalise the resource
On 22, 23 and 24 April all RRI Tools partners met in Lisbon to discuss the project advancement and share practices.
What is RRI (Responsible Research and Innovation)? There are a number of possible definitions… Watch this video to see the European Union’s take on this question… and stay tuned for updates from the RRI Tools project, now entering its second year. 26 institutions from 30 countries are participating – including Ecsite and some of its members.
Last week the project RRI Tools has been launched in Brussels, a three year long project funded under the European Commission (EC) Seventh Framework Programme (FP7 2007-2013) to foster Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in Europe with a view to a harmonious and efficient relationship between science and European society.
RRI is a process where all societal actors (researchers, citizens, policy makers, business) work together during the whole research and innovation (R&I) process in order to align its outcomes to the values, needs and expectations of European society.
