Wendy’s research used a collaborative approach to compare the learning from audiences short and long-term. The aim was to understand the purpose of the different colours or types of demonstration used and investigate which created the most impact long term. A case study of theatrical partnership to create a very colourful performance with no words built on this work and has fascinating learning within it about the very DNA of a science demonstration performance

Ian will share from his vast experience presenting science shows all over the world to different audiences, exploring how the shows have evolved over the years to become more relevant to an increasingly colourful world!

Silindile will present from a colleague's doctoral studies (at Unizulu Science Centre in South Africa) looking at how audiences from across the socioeconomic spectrum respond to a colourful science show on sound and music. Learning in the show, attitude and enjoyment are all measured to reflect on the varied hues of experience different visitors to a centre have. Useful implications follow on how to colour a show to ensure a best fit to a certain audience.
