The BA Planetarium Science Center is organizing the Library’s Science and Engineering Fair (BASEF) for the eighteenth consecutive year, to foster innovative and talented young people at the pre-university level. It runs from Sunday to Tuesday, 12 – 14 March 2023.
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in cooperation with TechnoFuture Egypt, is organizing the FIRST® LEGO® League Explore for the eighteenth consecutive year in Egypt, for children aged 6 – 10, from 29 – 31 January 2023.
More than 2,400 children will compete in this year’s tournament, representing 400 teams from 18 Egyptian governorates, with the participation of around 65 judges for the evaluation of projects, and more than 160 volunteers for the organization of the event.
The evolution of life on Earth is full of amazing episodes. But one story that really captures the imagination is the transition of the familiar, charismatic dinosaurs that dominated the planet for around 170 million years into a new small, airborne form: birds.
Dinosaurs Among Us is a flexible, engaging 2D panel exhibition exploring the fascinating evolutionary connections between living dinosaurs—birds—and their extinct relatives.
In October 2022, a beautiful new exhibition was launched in Carasso Science Park, in southern Israel, that aroused great interest and buzz among its visitors and in the social media alike. The exhibition brought to life hidden treasures, hiding in plain sight: seed pods, seeds and fruit that adorn trails, sidewalks and thickets throughout Israel via unique scanning technology.
Roadside Treasures Exhibition is a joint project of Carasso Science Park with Oranim Collage. It is still presented in the Museum for the General Public.
Now in its third year, greenloop 2023 is Blooloop’s conference focussing on sustainability in visitor attractions. Learn from leaders sharing their sustainability experiences at the only sustainability conference specifically for the industry.
Science festivity 2021
A whole science village is constructed on the BA plaza where many schools, universities, NGOs and individuals; as well as companies will join to present different types of activities to educate and entertain you. A variety of activities is presented, including hands-on workshops, interactive exhibits, sessions, in addition to various extraordinary shows.
LAND OF INVENTORS – RESEARCH IN GERMANY focuses on world-changing German inventions across the scientific disciplines. The spotlight is on both historical discoveries and pioneering innovations – not forgetting to take a look at the research environment in Germany of course.
The exhibition hosted by the Planetarium Science Center, Bibliotheca Alexandrina in March 2021, in conjunction with the Goethe-Institute in Alexandria.
On October 1 and 2, 2022, Weekend of Science will take place. NEMO Science Museum and The Studio at NEMO are free to visit on these days.
NAMES 2018 Conference
The North Africa and Middle East Science Center’s Network (NAMES) was launched on 30 January 2006 at the Library of Alexandria. The goal of NAMES is the popularization of science throughout the region by enhancing public understanding and involvement in science and scientific culture among an increasingly diverse audience.

Universcience welcomed on 6-8 October 2023 four Ecsite members at La Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris for its “Fête de la science” (science festival). On the road to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic games of Paris, the festival explored the links between sport and science (health, body, performance, neurosciences, social sciences) with a doorway to Europe and the world. The audience had the opportunity to discover the best science shows related to sport and science!

The Closing Ceremony of FIRST LEGO League Challenge and FIRST TECH Challenge Competitions
The BA Planetarium Science Center organized the closing ceremony of the FIRST LEGO League Challenge and the FIRST TECH Challenge competitions, in collaboration with TECHNOFuture - Egypt.
The ceremony witnessed the announcement of the winning teams who took home the major prizes in both competitions, including the PSC teams who were awarded the first and third places.
Egyptian Team Wins International Science and Engineering Awards
The Egyptian team, affiliated to the BA Planetarium Science Center (PSC), took part in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), held this year in Texas, USA, from 13 to 19 May 2023.
The PSC is organizing a number of workshops that encourage school students’ groups to explore their creativity and help them find out how to use it in their life; all the while enriching their knowledge. In our workshops, students are able to interact with each other and with world around them in an exciting and entertaining manner; they are graduated to have a blast!
