There are many ways in which robots could improve healthcare and wellbeing: robotic surgeons are already being used in highly intricate operations, including to treat patients with pancreatic and kidney cancer; in our aging society, robots could help to care for the elderly with humanoid carers; while the many people who are unable to drive for health reasons could find greater independence thanks to driverless cars.
To celebrate the European Year of Cultural Heritage, Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie has invited some of its European partners to the national Science Festival in Paris, France. From October 5th to 7th, some of their best scientific facilitators will host booths in a unique European village in the great hall of the Cité. Queen Elizabeth II is, moreover, the most portrayed person of the 20th and 21st centuries. With its many depictions of the Queen, this exhibition brings to life the 90 years of her reign.
Ottmar Hörl is acclaimed throughout the world for his large-scale temporary projects focussing on art as a means of communication. His works have been showcased around the world and depict eminent figures such as Karl Marx, Charles the Great, Richard Wagner and Martin Luther. Ottmar Hörl's "Second Life – 100 Workers" is an exciting sculptural project specially created for the Völklinger Hütte World Heritage Site.
Banksy's projects "Dismaland" and "Walled Off Hotel" achieved the greatest worldwide response of all art projects in 2015 and 2017. It is a sensation that Banksy's official photographer, Barry Cawston, is bringing these extraordinary art projects to life for the first time worldwide in an exhibition with his very special pictures.
With the National Geographic exhibition "Greatest Landscapes" we want to highlight the Museon's status as the Netherlands' most important geography museum. The exhibition shows breathtaking views and beautiful panoramas of the most special places on earth. From the heat of the desert to the barren polar regions, from sharp cliffs to rolling hills. All the photos in recent years have been taken by the best photographers from National Geographic. With this exhibition, we not only want to depict serene scenery, but also the influence of mankind on the landscape - for good and for bad.
The Museon in The Hague displays an exhibition about Hague artist and World War II resistance heroine Ru Paré (1896-1972).
National Geographic Photo Ark, an exhibition by Joel Sartore, is filled with beautiful and moving photos of animals both tiny and mammoth accompanied by Joel’s powerful story. The National Geographic Photo Ark is a multiyear effort to document every species living in wildlife sanctuaries, inspire action through education, and help save wildlife by supporting on-the-ground conservation efforts.

Eratosthenes festivity 2018
The Eratosthenes Festivity has become an annual tradition that takes place every year on 21 June at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; It is designed for preparatory school students, and includes a series of activities that revolve around the methodology Eratosthenes applied in measuring the Earth’s circumference 2000 years ago. On the 21st of June, the day of summer solstice, the 21st century school students conduct Eratosthenes’ experiment on the BA Plaza, and in Aswan (Upper Egypt) to measure the circumference of Earth.

The PSC is inviting all school students of ages 4-17 years to join the Summer Program, starting from the 13th of May 2017 till the 30th of August 2018.The program includes various activities, such as practical experiments, scientific contests, lectures, and Planetarium and Auditorium shows. The purpose of this program is to emphasize the bond between students and learning by approaching knowledge through fun and games.

School Year Program 2017/18
The PSC is organizing a number of workshops that encourage school students’ groups to explore their creativity and help them find out how to use it in their life; all the while enriching their knowledge. In our workshops, students are able to interact with each other and with world around them in an exciting and entertaining manner; they are graduated to have a blast!. the reservation requested by schools according to specific schedule.

Summer Program 2017
Since 2005 the PSC has organized the PSC summer Program which includes various activities, experiments, scientific contests, lectures, and shows. Participants are divided into groups according to their ages Each group has a number of schedules from which each participant chooses according to his convenience. The purpose of this program is to emphasize the bond between students and learning by approaching knowledge through fun and games.

Did you know that each Conference has it's own unique brand identity? This year the team at Esplora have incorporated a key element of Malta's cultural heritage, the Luzzu, into their design.
On Saturday 23rd July, Birgu’s Couvre Porte was decorated with the colours of Esplora as the science festival Esperimenta Tikka Xjenza was held with the main aim to bring the immersive world of science to the community. This festival was the science centre’s latest initiative to showcase that science can be entertaining and accessible to all.
