Ecsite Space Group Newsletter Vol. 3 February 2014
Welcome to yet another exciting instalment of Ecsite Space Group newsletter – the forum of science centres, museums and space professionals across Europe working to communicate the wonders of space.
We hope you’ve had a successful start to 2014 – the European Space Agency’s 50th anniversary. We’re very pleased to share the latest news from your friends from across Europe.
The Communications Manager leads the planning, coordination and execution of original communications products and activities at Ecsite. In this capacity, the incumbent works closely with the Executive Director in developing communications proposals that align with Ecsite’s institutional objectives and member services.
In past years, individual conference participants were able to apply for a Grundtvig Grant to cover costs for the Ecsite Annual Conference. This Grundtvig Grant no longer exists – it has been incorporated into the new Erasmus+ funding model.
What does this mean to you?
- No funds are available for the the Ecsite Annual Conference 2014
- For future conferences, only institutions can apply for funds, not individual participants. As an individual participant, you must ask your institution for an application.
It is our pleasure to announce that the online registration for the 25th Ecsite Annual Conference 2014, hosted by Museon in The Hague, Netherlands, is now open.
On January 20th 2014, a set of thrilling events were organized by science centres across Europe, as the first act of the “Hook-up with Rosetta” Campaign, designed by the Ecsite Space Group. The European Space Agency’s Rosetta probe finally woke up after two and a half years of hibernation. You may have a glimpse on that special day through Storify: http://storify.com/DidierLaval/rosetta-woke-up
Meanwhile, it is still time to take part in the Hook-up with Rosetta campaign!
