Knowledge and innovation are key drivers for sustainable growth and prosperity in Europe. Extensive research has demonstrated that the quality of research and development benefits significantly from adding gender as a critical success factor. The first European Gender Summit will network key players from all sectors to initiate the much-needed changes in the culture of research and innovation.
Under the theme Identity, Cultural Diversity and Heritage: The Role of Children's Museums in Times of Rapid Change, the conference will provide a platform focused on values of cultural heritage as an integral part of our way of life from the perspective of children and young people.

Museums form an important part of the cultural heritage of all European countries. As institutions, however, they have remained focused on the nation state for historical, political and often for financial reasons. However, many of the issues museums face today transcend national boundaries.
The theme this year is the Visitor Experience and the vital role it plays in building and retaining audiences.
This symposium is organised by the Science and Environment Communication Section (ECREA) in association with the Media Research Group, Faculty of Arts, University of Brighton.
Organizers have lined up workshops and seminars to take reporters deeper into their assignments, and help them frame the reporting of science globally and aid in storytelling with multimedia tools.
Over 70 European policymakers and more than 60 science communicators gathered in Paris, France, to talk science communication policies for European cities and regions.
Project Buffet: An open poster session
Are you part of a collaborative project you want to feature at the Ecsite Annual Conference? Propose it for the Project Buffet, an open poster session organized by Ecsite where 15 posters from collaborative, non-profit projects, will have the chance to present their work.
The Directors’ Forum is an event for the directors of all Full Members of Ecsite to come together and tackle key questions in our field. Faced with an ever-changing society and economy, how do science centres and museums adapt to the challenges that these changes bring? Among the the Natural History Museum’s awe-inspiring 70 million specimens, we will look at the types of change that affect us, and the changes we make as an institution.
See the Directors’ Forum page for more details.
