Conference highlights – 8 June

#Ecsite2019 Highlights 8 June

The conference just finished in Copenhagen, Denmark. It gathered 1190 participants from 59 different countries, making it the largest Ecsite Conference ever.

A warm thank you to our generous Host  Experimentarium, who offered attendees an inspiring setting (and sometimes playground) for a truly boundary-pushing 30th edition. And of course to all the participants who make this conference so special!

Don't forget to give us feedback by filling in the online evaluation form!

Yesterday’s highlights

Discover yesterday’s video summary, looking back on the last of three main conference days.

Slime mould researcher Audrey Dussutour delivered a keynote speech at 10.30. For the rest of the day, participants were able to pick and choose between 14 parallel session strands. Topics included science shows, universities & science centres, escape games, the ethics of brain technology, upwards management, decolonising the museum and many, many more.

The conference found its conclusion at Farewell Party at the Docken, a former salt warehouse re-converted into a cultural venue. Attendees chilled by the water, admired the sunset over Hellerup (and Experimentarium) and danced away in Docken's beautiful industrial space.
