Registration for the 2018 Ecsite Directors Forum will be opening end of May. The event will be hosted on 14-16 November by Natural Science Museum of Barcelona and Barcelona Ciència in Barcelona, Spain.

Senior Managers of Ecsite Full member organisations will be coming together for 2.5 days of networking, high-profile talks and workshops and peer learning.

The theme is "Science engagement organisations as Citizen labs". Two keynote speakers will be sharing their thoughts on the "Science engagement organisations as Citizen labs" theme: Artur Serra, expert in living labs and citizen laboratories, and Mara Ballestrini, expert in human-computer interaction and participatory technology. The programme also entails a marketplace workshop on open science labs and their potential for science engagement, a 'provocation' session by the 2018 Mariano Gago Ecsite Awards winners and an opportunity to exchange with the Ecsite Board. Social highlights include dinner at the Natural Science Museum on the first night, a cycling field trip to two nearby Barcelona citizen labs on the second day (other mobility options available) and countless networking opportunities.
