The social potential of Fablabs, tinkering and MakerSpaces

Fablabs appeared over a decade ago, embodying for some, the potentialities of a new industrial revolution. Since then, these Fablabs have spread everywhere within the science engagement field. Surprisingly, these tools have emerged as a formidable way for digital acculturation, audience mobilisation and personal achievement.

Fablabs have made it possible to develop new forms of learning or engagement for different audiences with their customised approaches according to the target audience. In this session, we will be sharing our Fablab experiences and discussing the potential and opportunities they offer, as well as the challenges and risks they encounter.
