The Science Museum – Museum System of Camerino University presented on November 25th the exhibition “Rosetta, la cometa e i segreti del cosmo” (Rosetta, the comet and cosmos secrets), which will remain open until the end of May 2015. Rosetta probe mission and scientific experience with its lander module Philae will be shown by interactive panels from ECSITE Space Group, ESA and our University. Game On 2.0

Life is delighted to host Game On 2.0, the biggest collection of playable computer games in the world!

From Sonic to Samus, Mario to Minecraft, Game On 2.0 is the world’s most comprehensive collection of computer games from the past 60 years. This major international exhibition is coming to Newcastle’s Life Science Centre in May 2015. Enjoy more than 100 playable games and explore the history and culture of gaming throughout the years. Retro-lovers can indulge in arcade classics such as Pac-Man, and more modern games such as Rock Band and Halo 3 are also available to play.

Experiment Zone at Life

Experiment Zone is a brand new experience at Life Science Centre that encourages visitors to think and experiment like real scientists. They can explore how real science is done; carry out practical experiments using proper tools and materials and meet real-life working scientists. Visitors can work on alone, in a team or enlist the help of Life’s Science Explainers. Experiment Zone is included in the admission price to the Science Centre.

Dino Jaws

What did dinosaurs eat - and how do we know? Visitors are thrust into the world of dinosaur dining habits in this roaring spectacle of an exhibition. From the infamous flesh-eating T.rex to the plant munching Edmontosaurus , different dinosaurs ate different foods and often had unique ways of catching their dinner.

Life-size animatronic dinosaur heads, including the terrifying T.rex, show how the teeth and jaws move together to tear, grind and chew food.

This summer, Satrosphere are focussing on the science behind sport, to celebrate the mass of sporting events happening this summer. Satrosphere’s Summer of Sport Science launches on 25 June, from 6.30pm. Come along for free entry and a special event including an exciting talk looking at how sporting materials help people achieve new heights of success!

This is a free evening event suitable for the whole family. Booking is not required.

Poisons, instructions for use

The exhibition “Poisons, instructions for use” will be on display from October 25th 2013 to May 31st 2014 at the Science Museum, Crivelli Hall, Polo Museale of Camerino University. According to Paracelsus, “the right dose differentiates a poison and a remedy”. So the exhibition presents a sensorial and scientific journey not only through poisons and venoms from plants and animals: are also proposed natural drugs which crossed our history, culture, science and tradition.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year in Museon

The winners of this year’s prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition were announced at London’s Natural History Museum on 15 October 2013. South African photographer Greg du Toit has been named Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013 by the panel of international judges for his image "Essence of elephants", a mysterious and energetic portrait of African elephants in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve in Botswana. The exhibition with all the fantastic wildlife photographs can be visited in Museon from 22 november 2013 until 23 february 2014.
