From What Is to What If: why the next 10 years needs to feel like a revolution of the imagination

Delivered online, but exclusively for Conference attendees, Rob Hopkins, founder of the Transition movement, will share his insights about the importance of nurturing the imagination in organisations and movements for change. He will argue that at the very time in history in which climate science demands we fundamentally reimagine everything, our collective imagination isn't up to it. He will share inspiring stories from around the world of change, and may even bring his top secret time machine, the result of years of research in his home town of Totnes, and share stories, images and even audio recordings from a recent trip he made to a low carbon 2030. The author Dan Delillo wrote "longing on a large scale is what makes history", and in his talk Rob will set out how, by harnessing the power of imagination, storytelling and longing, we can accelerate our impacts to the scale necessary.
