Indiana Jones and the Adventure of Archaeology

An introduction to the science of field archaeology inspired by the Indiana Jones character and his adventures, as well as the stories and excavations of real-world archaeologists.

A vast and exclusive collection of Indy props, models, concept art and set designs. Genuine archaeological artefacts and educational material provided by the Penn Museum. The National Geographic Society, Laval University and the City of Montreal. Exhibition features favourite clips from the four Indy films:

• Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark™ (1981)

• Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom™ (1984)

• Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade™ (1989)

• Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ™(2008)

Signature Props/Costumes including: Indy’s iconic whip and hat; the Ark of the Covenant and Chachapoyan Fertility Idol (from Raiders of the Lost Ark); the Sankara Stones and Mola Ram’s headdress (from Temple of Doom); the Cross of Coronado and Grail Diary (from Last Crusade); and the Crystal Skull and Crystal Skeleton (from Crystal Skull), and many more!

Real Archaeology behind the secrets of the mysterious Nazca Lines and the lost civilization of Angkor Wat. Exciting historic discoveries of real Indiana Joneses like Hiram Bingham (discovered Machu Picchu in 1911), Sir Leonard Woolley (excavated the gold treasures of the Mesopotamian civilization of Ur in the 1920s), and the archaeologists around the world today and the technologies and techniques used to make new discoveries now and in the future.

Over two hundred objects on display as well as a hand held video companion that contains supplemental content and video and an interactive treasure hunt. Partnership with Lucasfilm, National Geographic, and X3 Productions.
