A two-part workshop series in May will explore the practical and ecological aspects of foraging and urban gardening, combining field experience with scientific knowledge. Participants will learn about wild edible plants and small-scale vegetable growing through guided activities and hands-on sessions.
On 24 May, a workshop on wild edible plants will take place in Kolibki Park. The event will be led by Kasia Banaś, a wildlife educator.
From 1 to 4 May, the Experyment Science Centre in Gdynia will host 'May 2025 at Experyment'. The programme focuses on the theme of vitality, which includes health, energy, lifestyle, exercise and nutrition. The aim of the event is to encourage participants of all ages to engage in healthy and safe physical activity, as well as to promote the development of good eating habits and healthy prevention.
With Prof. Dr. Hubert Wiggering and the sound artist Kurt Holzkämper: Peatlands are actually inaudible. But the interdisciplinary MONAS Collective around the sound artist Kurt Holzkämper and the scientist Prof. Dr. Hubert Wiggering transforms the mystical moors into living protagonists. With innovative microphones and sensors, natural sounds and data from plants and greenhouse gases are made audible. These sounds, combined with video and light installations, create a unique audiovisual landscape that makes Moore come alive in a completely new way.
"Recipe for... Health from Roots" is an upcoming event offering a multifaceted exploration into the world of roots, taking place on 25 April at Experyment in Gdynia. The evening format, running from 18:30 to 22:00, will explore the historical and anthropological roots of Polish cuisine, the promising health benefits of root-derived substances such as adaptogens, and the culinary versatility of root vegetables in vegetarian diets.
