The Week of Science and Technology is the most extensive science festival in the Czech Republic. The 2019 Week of Science and Technology will run from 11-17 November 2019. We sincerely invite you to come!
The programme for the Week of Science and Technology of the Czech Academy of Sciences offers events all over the Czech Republic – in every regional seat and many other places.
The Science Fair is the largest popular science event in the Czech Republic, which has been organized annually since 2015 by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. It shows science in all its forms and offers to visitors the most interesting things from the world of natural, technical, humanities and social sciences. It presents science and research as a fascinating and essential branch of human activity. Visitors will experience science first-hand through interactive exhibits, models, mobile laboratories and practical workshops.
Until spring 2021, National Geographic - Planet or Plastic is the theme of the National Geographic photo exhibition. It shows a collection of journalistic photographs about the production of plastic, via its use until the stage of litter. Artistic photographs will also be on display, drawing attention to the scale and sad effects of our use of plastic. The exhibition also shows photographs of scientific research of the plastic problem and the search for solutions to the pollution of the oceans.

In 2014 we had the pleasure to design and build the H2Oh! water gallery for AAHOM. In 2019, we were again contracted by the museum to work together with the in-house design team to develop and fabricate exhibits for the renewal of their All About You exhibition. The exhibits were delivered and installed in the summer of 2020.

In August 2018 we were contracted with the concept and detailed design of Techniquest‘s Science Capital, and, half a year later, to design and build it.The Science Capital project has been the biggest in nearly 34 years of Techniquest’s existence and was aimed to radically transform the science centre and diversify their audience. It consists of a significant extension, expanding the floor space by 60% and introducing 52 brand-new exhibits. The Science Capital was officially opened to the public on 14th November 2020.
In April 2019 we were contracted by Aberdeen Science Centre for the development, design, fabrication and installation of 60 exhibits and associated graphics for the new interactive galleries as part of a £6m renovation project. The ground floor themes are Energy, Space, Life Sciences and a special area for the under-6s. On the new First Floor exhibition is Make It and Test It, themed primarily on engineering and maths. Summer, sweltering temperatures, sunshine, and …refreshing mist? This unlikely mixture was recently staged by the Effektschmiede on the square in front of the science centre phaeno in Wolfsburg, Germany. In intervals of half an hour, the four beds of reeds surrounded by seating areas that reach out of the minimalistic, grey square are enveloped in manmade, water-based fog – we do not rely on artificial, chemical fog. The environs are thereby turned into climatic microcosms of their own: the temperatures go down and humidity-levels rise.
During November and December, the Effektschmiede joined the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's North America tour, operating two 3MTC Tesla Coils which were synchronised to the Orchestra's hard rock jingles. Night after night, the coils and the lights created stunning optics on stage.
Recently we were visited by Noah Levi, together with the production crew of Jive Germany, to film the music video for his new song ‘Sonne oder Regen’. The Effektschmiede Team pulled out all the stops and took charge of lighting, set design, and the production of rain, fog and lightning effects. Noah’s music video dropped on Friday the 19th of July and today we’re sharing our very own making-of video. Noah Levi – Sonne oder Regen Special thanks go to Nicolas Vargas for his great help with the making-of video.
