The FIT4FOOD2030 project experience is the subject of this official publication of the European Commission's Directorate General for Research and Innovation.

It features achievements, lessons learned and recommendations from all project partners, including Ecsite and several of our members which hosted City Labs with the aim of co-developing trainings and building competences among audiences of all ages for future-proofing food systems.

'The approach advocated here, promoting the uptake of systems thinking and responsible research and innovation, needs to be amplified across Europe and demonstrated through continued transdisciplinary and transformative research and innovation efforts. [...] It has demonstrated that living labs, as spaces for multi-actor co-creation at multiple levels, can be effective catalysers of change to help implement the EU Farm-to-Fork Strategy and wider EU Green Deal priorities across Europe.' writes Jean-Eric Paquet, Director-General of the Directorate in charge of Research and Innovation.

Project

FIT4FOOD2030

FIT4FOOD2030 supported the development and implementation of the European Commission’s FOOD 2030 policy framework to transform European food systems towards greater sustainability, resilience, competitiveness and inclusion. The project integrated existing and emerging networks and infrastructures, creating Communities of Practice that foster RRI and use transformative learning processes to build competences among citizens and stakeholders who are not currently actively integrated in decision-making.
