Science Fiction; Voyage to the edge of imagination

Guided by an artificial intelligence of alien origin, you will be placed at
the heart of an exciting science fiction adventure. Board and explore a
unique spaceship, scout an unknown planet, and investigate the relationship
between science and science fiction.

Science Fiction: Voyage to the Edge of Imagination | Science Museum

A unique experience where visitors play a vital part in this exhibition through a story-led approach. Guided by artificial intelligence of extra-terrestrial origin, visitors will board a compellingly real spaceship and explore how humans have imagined new worlds as both fiction, exploring the possibilities the future may hold, and as fact – bringing those imagined worlds into being.

Visitors will travel to distant worlds and encounter authentic objects from celebrated science fiction film, television and literature – as well as iconic objects from scientific discoveries of the past, present and, perhaps, the future. Our ambition is to embrace the diversity of science fiction traditions across the world– exploring multicultural perspectives and identities and addressing the historical imbalances in gender representation in both science and science fiction.
