This exhibition lets us discover the European civilization of the XIXth century through the founding technological innovations of our everyday life, the social battles, international commerce, researchers, the Belgian colonization of Congo, the Art Nouveau and the artistic and scientific sources of the XXth century. All of this takes place against a backdrop of universal exhibitions dating from 1851 to 1913, the real fairs of progress. More than 60 European museums and archives have lent out works for this exhibition (Archives Lumière, Picasso Museum, Deutsche Historische Museum, Musée d'Orsay, MRBA, London Transport Museum, etc.)
