Earth’s Magnetic Field

Earth is a giant magnet or rather it behaves like a magnet from many points of view. We can show the shape of the magnetic field of the Earth with a very simple exhibit.

This exhibit is very interactive. You can throw small blunt nails on a globe and see the effect of a very intense magnetic field. You can drag the nail in the air and see the shape of Earth’s magnetic field, make a pillar of nails or put a lot of nails in the cap of the globe and see how funny is what happens.
