Highlights of the 2nd HEIRRI Conference in Vienna

The second and last HEIRRI Conference, "Education towards a responsible society, transforming universities through RRI", was celebrated in Vienna on Friday 27 April 2018.

Around 150 people from 43 countries gathered at Aula der Wissenschaften for this event, where discussions focused on RRI teaching and learning. The conference was the perfect occasion to present the results of the three years of the project as the HEIRRI materials were introduced to the attendees.

Professionals from around the world attended the conference which resulted in an enriching and thought-provoking conference.

Three keynote speeches were given by Rolf Tarrach (President of the European University Association (EUA) ), Melanie Smallman, Lecturer in Science and Technology Studies and Deputy Director of the Responsible Research and Innovation hub at University College London (UCL), and Vincent Blok, Associate Professor in Sustainable Entrepreneurship, Business Ethics and Responsible Innovation at the Management Studies Chair Group, Wageningen University.

A poster panel, a speed-dating/market place session as well as parallel sessions also made for a successful conference.
