In this reverse session, explainers and other staff responsible for face-to-face interaction on the exhibition floor are invited to reflect on the trends and future challenges of our field. What might be the implications for daily practice, or for the roles and competencies required by explainers? Based on the sessions attended during Ecsite 2015 as well as their own experiences, participants will share their insights, recommendations and concerns. Our respondents – experienced educators themselves – will start the discussion with provocative statements and later offer advice. Our aim is to explore the potential impacts of possible futures on the staff that are key to the success of informal institutions. We also plan to share this collected “view from the floor” with the wider community.
