Brave new robotic world

Commitment: 21st century skills

How might you reimagine the work of your education and learning team when you can no longer engage in-person? At Science Gallery, human connection and conversation are at the heart of an exhibition experience, and our mediators play a fundamental role in facilitating that deeper engagement. During our recent exhibition, FUTURE PRESENT: Design in a Time of Urgency, our greatest challenge was figuring out new strategies for facilitating learning in an entirely remote context. From using remotely-controlled telepresence robots, to becoming social media content creators and digital facilitators, we experimented with a range of roles and strategies within our education team.

In this session, we will discuss our tips for facilitating engaging digital learning experiences that foster connections through conversation with our mediators, with the opportunity to pose questions and engage in dialogue with mediators around their experiences working across different digital formats. We will also have an interactive virtual tour in the Not-so-Nocturne - find out more here!
