We are pleased to announce the theme for the 2025 Ecsite Directors Forum! This year the theme is: "Reuniting in a polarised world".

The world has never been more polarised. In the field of science engagement, science centres and museums, we are experiencing this first hand, both within the organisation and in engaging citizens with science.  We can and should play an important role, taking the lead in repairing fragmentation between groups and combatting science skepticism by building credibility, trust and navigating controversial topics without alienation.

But ‘how can we do this?’

The 2025 Ecsite Directors Forum, hosted by Ciência Viva in Lisbon, Portugal will address these challenges through a guided deep-dive into building relationships and trust within our organisations and in our diverse communities. Participants will develop communication strategies for real life concerns, tailored to address the specific concerns and values of different audience segments.

The programme, also includes ample time to network with peers, to visit the science centre and discover more about the workings of the Ciencia Viva Network which operates in 21 science centres locations throughout Portugal.

The opening plenary will start at 11am on Thursday 20 November and officially close at 12.30 on 21 November followed by lunch for all attendees. An optional programme of visits will be available in the afternoon and over the weekend for an additional charge.
