Job: Head of Communications

EMBL (European Molecular Biology Laboratory) is looking for a Head of Communications to lead its digital communications portfolio, corporate design and brand strategy, publications and stakeholder engagement, including international press and internal communication activities from its headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany.

They are looking for a highly experienced, proactive and personable team leader to head their communications activities, promoting the work of EMBL to a diverse global audience and raising awareness of its impact.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience working in, leading and managing a communications team, ideally for an international organisation. They will be an outgoing person with a high level of personal integrity who can establish good working relationships with different departments within the organisation as well as with outside stakeholders, including partners and suppliers.

Requirements include having completed a university degree, preferably with a focus on science, extensive experience of digital communications strategy and agile delivery, managing an editorial and print production pipeline and more. The candidate must be fluent in English and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
