For the fourth time the Swiss Space Museum was a part of the Fantasy Basel - The Swiss Comic Con. This year, the big event from 10 to 12 May at Basel Exhibition, Switzerland, attracted over 50,000 visitors.

The exhibition "Your Trip to Space", presented by the Swiss Space Museum, focused on the Soyuz rocket and the International Space Station (ISS). For example, exhibition maker Guido Schwarz showed original flown parts of the Soyuz rocket of the MS-05 mission exclusively and for the first time in public. The visitors could see an intact tail fin, several large fairing parts as well as a kerosen and a liquid oxygen pump of the RD-107 engine. Another fascinating object was the hatch of the Soyuz-Fairing of the MS-02 mission that allowed the crew to access the capsule. But also an original Sokol space suit and the Kazbek seat of cosmonaut Gennady Strekalov Dokus (Soyuz T-11, 1984) and other unique artifacts of space travel were on display. Another attraction was a cosmonaut diaper, which caused a blogger to rate the exhibition as the best of five top attractions at Fantasy Basel.

Another highlight was the special exhibition "The ISS: Living and Working in Space" of the Ecsite Space Group, which gave visitors an insight into the everyday life of the astronauts on board the station.

Finally, thanks to the VR programme "Mission: ISS", the audience could make a virtual visit to the space station and literally float around in weightlessness.

An exciting photo album of the exhibition is available here.
