The Stiftung Planetarium Berlin (Foundation of Berlin Planetariums) was established on July 1, 2016 as a foundation under public law and for the first time in the history of the city it unites the astronomical institutions of Berlin. The Archenhold Observatory and the Wilhelm Foerster Observatory are among the most traditional public observatories in Germany, while the Planetarium am Insulaner and the Zeiss-Großplanetarium offer relevant and innovative forms of mediation.

The houses of the foundation are modern bridges to the cosmos. As a common institution, they are at the cutting edge in terms of technology and content, and they form an essential part of Berlin's educational and cultural offerings. In addition to astronomy, the range of topics offered by the foundation is extended to other sciences and culture.
