EPCC de diffusion de la CSTI Grenoble Alpes (La Casemate)

The centre for scientific, technical and industrial culture (CCSTI) of Grenoble has been founded in 1979. Historically, it's the first Science Centre created in France after the Palais de la Découverte in 1937!

Its main mission is to promote scientific, technical and industrial culture to all populations.

CCSTI-Grenoble is located in La Casemate, an old military premises from the 19th century. It's a place where heritage and innovation are mixing in order to foster people's curiosity and creativity.

CCSTI-Grenoble’s actions take many forms: interactive exhibitions, science workshops, digital publications, Science Festivals, public debates, Living Lab. Since March 2012, La Casemate is operating a Fab Lab /makerspace in its building. The Lab is open 7 days a week, it welcomes every kind of publics from young scholars to entrepreneurs, from families to independant artists and makers.

Every year, CCSTI-Grenoble welcomes approximately 40 000 visitors, among which 20 % of school. The development of the CCSTI-Grenoble joins clearly the science-society concern, through the presentation of interactive exhibitions making a wide place for the debate, for the controversy, and for the contributions of the social sciences and the art.
