As agreed at the Space Group pre-conference workshop held in June 2016 in Graz, Austria, the Annual Meeting 2016 took place at the ESA Astronaut Centre in Cologne on 8-9 December 2016.

Participants had the oportunity to learn more about the three pilot projects that the Ecsite Space Group is developing (on the topics "The International Space Station: Living and working in Space", “Is there life out there?” and “Climate change: monitoring the atmosphere and oceans from space”) as well as about European space activities. They also visited the European Astronaut Centre with representatives from ESA and they shared their own innovative projects and ideas.
