Museums in Europe: what challenges for the future?

Meeting of directors of museums and administration in charge of museum policy
Paris, May 3-4, 2022

Directors of museums from the 27 Member States of the EU were invited in Paris to discuss the role of museums in Europe in the framework of the French Presidency of the EU Council, and exchange on their main challenges for the future in the cultural fabric of Europe.

The President of Ecsite, Bruno Maquart, participated in a roundtable and underlined the importance of driving science engagement forward and developing critical thinking. At a time when sustainability must be on top of our priorities together with building a digital future and strengthening democracy, science museums and science centres are key partners.
