Future of urban living - that was the focus of a range of activities promoting the latest ERC-funded research in the area of urban planning and development, design, innovation, smart cities & technology and more. In late September, the ERC=Science2 campaign made a week long stop in Estonia in order to promote and draw attention to the European research and its impact on people's lives. Hosted and organized by the Science Centre AHHAA the week saw a program full of public workshops and experiments but also dialogue activities, such as Science Café or a guided laboratory tour.
The SciencSquared campaign spotlight its first scientific theme titled "The Human City" and invited the citizens of Tartu, Estonia to explore the ongoing research and pitch in into a discussion about how the future should look like.
The entire event proved to be a huge success with more than 1000 people, accounting for 1% of the population of Tartu, joining in. Find out more about the featured experiments and people's viewpoints in the attached press release!
