LGBTQ+ STEM Day - New Date

In 2020 the LGBTSTEM Day will no longer take place on 5 July. The new date is 18 November.

Why?

After months of discussion and an open survey, it was concluded that 18 November better represented the LGBT community's history in STEM, as it commemorates 60 years of astronomer and gay activist Frank Kameny’s US Supreme Court fight against workplace discrimination. The idea is that this date will come to represent the people who contribute to making STEM a better place today.

How to participate?

If you want advice on how to participate, feel free to contact LGTBSTEM. At the same time, if you still want to commemorate the 5 July date please feel free to do so. The more dates there are that commemorate the LGBT presence in STEM, the better.
