Job: Science Gallery Curator

As the Curator of the Science Gallery Melbourne, you will focus on the curation and production of Science Gallery Melbourne’s themed seasons for 2019 and 2020.

Each season will include:

  • A thematic art/science exhibition comprised of a mixture of commissioned exhibits, transdisciplinary projects, and installations
  • An associated public program of activities and events relating to the season theme
  • Collaboration with our core target audience of 15-25 year olds in the development and delivery of the season

About You

  • A tertiary qualification in Science or related discipline; or curatorial experience and expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training;
  • Experience and knowledge in science exhibition curation and program delivery in a public venue including concepts, practices and process;
  • Strong networks/relationships with peers within the science and arts communities;
  • Budget management skills and experience
  • A high level of creativity and ability to deliver compelling public engagement programs;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to structure, engage and present information clearly and interestingly to young adults
