Job: Public Engagement Coordinator and Evaluator

A team of researchers from the School of Public Health at Imperial College London are seeking an experienced Public Engagement Coordinator and Evaluator to support the public engagement elements of a research project exploring the health and societal impacts of air pollution, and the benefits of strategies to meet the UK Government’s target to bring greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050.

Air pollution, the largest single environmental risk factor in the UK, is associated with the premature deaths of 28,000 – 36,000 people each year and affects the poorest in society the most. This study, led by Dr Sean Beevers, aims to understand the air quality, health and economic benefits of a range of future climate policy scenarios in 2030, 2040 and 2050. The research team will have ongoing dialogue with patients and young people throughout the project, who will inform and shape the study design and influence how the research is shared more widely with public audiences.

A significant public engagement element of the project will see dedicated workshops run with 15-25 year olds to co-develop an art installation that will foster dialogue on the future health impacts of air pollution and climate change amongst young people.
