Job: Patient involvement coordinator

The European Lung Foundation is looking for a patient involvement and engagement coordinator.

ELF works alongside the European Respiratory Society (ERS) to involve people with lung conditions in science, education and advocacy. This role would include engaging patients from across Europe in research (e.g. setting research priorities, clinical trial design) and in clinical practice guidelines (e.g. identifying outcome measures important to patients). They are a small, busy team working on multiple projects across all lung conditions.

The role is 80% FTE and can be flexible in terms of days/hours worked. It is based in Sheffield, UK – although they are currently all working from home! Some travel to Europe will be required.

Salary - £25,000 - £30,000.

Closing date – 17 April, although they will interview on an ongoing basis.

From the job profile, the Patient involvement and engagement coordinator will:

Manage and develop patient involvement in all ERS activities
Work with specific ERS and ELF projects to ensure that patients are able to productively input and lead where appropriate
Help coordinate the ELF Advisory Committee of patient organisations
Coordinate specific Patient Advisory Groups in different topic areas
Help manage the involvement of patient organisations in the ERS International Congress
Advocate for the role of patients, carers and patient organisations within science and healthcare, specifically in the respiratory arena
Coordinate patient input into EU-funded projects
