Job: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Science Communication

The Centre for Science Communication at the University of Otago (New Zealand) is seeking to appoint a full-time confirmation path Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Science Communication.

Applications will be accepted from strong candidates in any of the areas listed above (filmmaking, writing, and/or science and society), with preference given to applicants who can teach into our postgraduate Science and Natural History Filmmaking course and potentially also to teach components of our new undergraduate minor in Science Communication.

In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active research programme in your area of specialisation, garner external support through grants and/or commercial collaborations, and become a world-class leader as a practicing science communicator.

The scholarly field of Science Communication focuses on the complex and ever-changing relationship between the general public and the scientific community (including political, pedagogical, entertainment and informative dimensions). In addition to a general undergraduate minor in Science Communication, our postgraduate course offers endorsements in filmmaking, writing, and science and society.
