Inspiring a new generation of explorers!

To mark the first year of the EUSpace Awe project, www.space-awareness.org has been launched. The project's website is specially targeted at teachers and parents and is full of free to use high quality resources, news, interesting projects of citizen science related to space and events.

The Space Awareness activities have been selected following the most popular topics for space in the school curricula. These topics are the result from a survey disseminated to educators in 10 European countries and South Africa in 2015. All resources have been reviewed by an educator and a scientist and are tested and improved by teachers and educators all around Europe and beyond. The resources can be filtered using 4 categories:

  • Space Exploration
  • Earth Observation
  • Navigation
  • Islamic heritage

EU Space Awareness aims at informing children and young adults about current research and issues related to space sciences and the numerous career opportunities offered by space, and to show them that space science can be fun and inspiring. It takes into consideration the vatness and beauty of the Universe and that our place within it provides a special perspective that can help to broaden the mind and stimulate a sense of global citizenship. With this in mind, the project will pay special attention to reaching children and teachers in unpriviledged communities.

Besides the website that has just been launched and that can be visited through this link the project launched previously a specially designed webstie for children that can be visited in www.spacescoop.org/en/ and that is available in 22 languages.
